What To Expect

Here at Lizard Creek Gun Dog we are proud to offer guided wild pheasant hunts behind professionally trained dogs across over one thousand privately owned acres of habitat.

Located in Northwest Iowa, we boast a strong population of wild birds that allows for ample harvest opportunities.

Hunters can expect a full day of hunting with shooting hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Hunters ride along or follow our professional guides (depending on group size) from field to field in our pursuit of these elusive ringnecks.  A field lunch and snacks will be provided if and when possible.  At the end of the hunt, our guides will clean and package your harvest to your personal preference.

Our hunting season runs from October 25th, 2025 to January 10th, 2026. All parties will be responsible to follow the Iowa Hunting Regulations and obtain an appropriate license. Hunters will also be required to sign LCGD's legal liability waiver.  Iowa's daily limit is 3 roosters per person with a possession limit of 12.

Lodging is not included, but multiple options are available both within Pocahontas and within a short driving distance.

$350 per hunter per day. Up to 5 hunters per group.

**Larger Group Sizes Available Upon Special Request**
